the roses in the yard they hold a love
that is not mine
i want to know how they see time cuz in this place
things never change

how do they grow?

here all the flowers break their backs to meet the sunlight
and it takes all their energy just to breathe

i feel the stares of broken eyes and empty souls
through my window
i'll never know how they see time their empty thoughts
they scream at me

you'll never grow

but it's all lies when halogens replace the sunlight
and it takes all my energy just to breathe
and i can sit and think and sing but i can't eat
and i'm awake for days and days why can't i sleep

i often sit and wish i could punch my two fists
deep into the fourth dimension
you wouldn't have to wait as i would delicately unlace
the corset of time and space

and through the folds of the unknown
i'd walk the road to that lonesome home
and find some way to mention
that you don't belong in this dark room
with the lights all on it's till a tomb
let's climb back to mother nature's womb
